Lou Rawls- You’ll Never Find A Love Like Mine
The only of Rawls’ songs that reached Billboards top 10. This is a classic. Love it
Moby- Love of Strings
On a big Moby kick. I feel his music is real spiritual. Real relaxing…Makes you reflect on life…your past…and plans for the future. Enjoy
Butthole Surfers- Pepper
Cool jam for the spring/summer time. reminds me of a cake/beck type of song.
Lenny Kravitz- It Aint Over ‘til It’s Over
An awesome 90’s jam with soul/funk/motown influences.
The guitar and bass parts are perfect and Lenny kills it in the choruses. Love this one, check it.
Ice Cube- Today Was a Good Day
Foo Fighters- My Poor Brain
This one is off of their 1997, The Colour and the Shape. I remember this album being released. Fell in love with it years later. The Foo Fighters are definitely my favorite rock band out there and have been rocking out successfully for just about 20 years now.
Rediscovered this song a few weeks ago. Forgot how great it was. Dave Grohl…i dont know what to say. Hes the man. Thats all.
Hootie and the Blowfish- Not Even the Trees
I know I just posted a Hootie song last night, but I’m on a big Hootie Kick. Once again, Darius Rucker, killing it. Also, really cool bass line.
Not Even the Trees is my favorite song by these guys. Take a listen. Always helps me take a step back and think about life.
Hootie and the Blowfish- Only Lonely
I’ve got a lot of love for Hootie. One of the bands that I used to listen to with my dad when I was growing up. Definitely one of my favorites from the 90’s. They have that perfect mix of a rock/country band. Hootie’s singer, Darius Rucker always kills it. He’s got such a soulful voice. One of my favorite singers (if not my favorite).
Soulive- Joyful Girl
My new jam of the week. This funk/jazz/awesome trio from Woodstock get it right in this track. This has been stuck in my head for some time now. Soulive creates a nice relaxing groove, the soothing vocals put you at ease, guitar presence/tone is perfect and I am in love the sax solo at the end. Definitely worth a listen…or two.
